Typically in our family, packing up to go raise support can be a little crazy. Just imagine basically moving your entire family for about a month and a half every year. Honestly, its one of the most unpleasant experiences of our year. We feel like whenever we show up some where its like the circus comes to town. Amy and I have had a few arguments during those times. Dog barking, children screaming, forgetting things, we’ll just say its a recipe for us to get a revelation of our depravity and sin. Thank God for exposing it in our lives.
I had a little epiphany when we were packing and the dog was going crazy and kids were screaming and you know what, we weren’t really arguing or anything. I just realized, wow, this having kids thing and asking God for patience actually works. I wasn’t getting frustrated or impatient. I realized in a moment I’ve grown and it was gratifying, especially when sometimes its a little hard after you’ve been serving God for a while to see growth in your character and just being able to quantify spiritual growth period.
So keep asking God to grow your character and give you the grace to overcome sin, it works.
