Don’t They Have Something Better To Do?

I’m a sports fan. College Football is the greatest sport in America. My love for sports started with baseball. My favorite team is the SF Giants. My love for baseball has slowly dwindled over the years to the point where I might watch a couple innings of the World Series if it was Game 7. Sad, I know.

Anyways, I was wondering if anyone knows why the government is meddling in MLB. I mean, we have a war going on, we’ve got lots of problems in our country and our government officials find it necessary to figure out whether athletes juiced or took HGH. I don’t know about you, but that is not why I pay tax dollars. Lets be honest, all they are is entertainers. All professional sports are is entertainment. I’m sure there are some guys and gals in Hollywood jucing, so should the government start testing all actors to see if they are doing something that could give them an unfair advantage? Its ridiculous. They need to go do their job.

Let me just say for the record that I don’t care who did or who didn’t take ‘roids. I don’t care if Barry Bonds juiced or not. I don’t care if he broke any records. I just say we put an asterisk on the last 10-20 years or MLB and call it the steroid era, give these guys some tests for the future and move on.

Does anyone actually know why the government is dealing with this issue? I haven’t heard from anyone and I would be really interested to find out.

I’m no baseball fan, but it would it appear it’s easier to deal with this than war. Maybe to rectify the image of ‘America’s pastime.’

    I dunno and I don’t care.

Here’s the problem. Baseball is a national face for American sports. People all over the world watch American baseball and familiarize themselves with the current issues. It also gives them a stereotype of what all Americans do. So, baseball has obviously been riddled with ‘roid use for quite a while now. Other countries stars are now starting to do the same on americas example. Other countries governments aren’t angry or furious but do somewhat call on American leaders to deal with the problem. The government has asked baseball time and time again to do something about it to which they put little measures here and there that just don’t work. So, now the government has said, alright, if you won’t do anything about it. We will. And that’s where we are. Unfortunately it has become somewhat of an international issue even though it shouldn’t be. If it was up to me, I agree, put an asterisk and move on. But, that’s all I know…
