I’ve been thinking a lot about getting spiritually fed from conversations with some of my fellow staff members recently to just pondering this concept a lot myself recently. I recently finished reading A. W. Tozer’s, “The Pursuit of God.” He said something so good I had to call someone just to share in my elation. I will shorten a couple paragraphs into a few sentences.
He said, “We’ve been trying to apply machine age methods to our relations with God. We read our chapter, have our short devotions and rush away, hoping to make up for our deep inward bankruptcy by attending another gospel meeting or listening to another thrilling story told by a religious adventurer lately returned from afar. The tragic results of this spirit are all about us: shallow lives, hollow religious philosophies………..These and such as these are the symptoms of an evil disease, a deep and serious malady of the soul.”
The translation for those of us who don’t use big words. If you don’t get your time with Jesus everyday and get fed from His Word and His presence, you have “an evil disease.” It’s not ENCM’s job, ENT’s job, your small groups job or your mentors job to feed you spiritually, its yours.

Well put Mr. Middleton. Like the blog look and the content.
It’s easy to put blame on others, but it’s a lot harder to truly scrutinize yourself and see if you’ve really been spending time developing that relationship with your Lord.
